As many of you know we are getting ready to begin rehearsals for Big River. The auditions are beginning this week and rehearsals will start at the beginning of May.
This is a really powerful story of the great friendship that develops between a runaway slave and a teenage boy as they travel by raft down the Mississippi River. The music, written by Roger Miller is absolutely beautiful. This story has the Mark Twain wit and comic situations as well as the serious and tragic story of slavery and prejudice.
We don't need a large cast, and this show is not filled with a lot of dance or a large ensemble cast, but we would really like some serious actors and singers to consider being part of this production.
Please reach out for a link to sign up for auditions.
I will be holding call back auditions next week, and if you are just deciding now to audition and need to prepare a song or songs, we can schedule first auditions next week as well.
Auditions are 15 minutes long, details will be shared via email when scheduled.
Actors auditioning must choose a part of parts they would like, and sing a song or songs from the show, sung by the character they are auditioning for. All of the songs are available on youtube and are from the Original Broadway Cast.
