2011/2012 Season - Program Details

Hi,

I wanted to give you a better idea of what JAKS is doing in this upcoming season. Especially for those of you who are new and might be wondering where you or your child will fit in.

Little Rascals and JAKS Follies are workshops and have a set schedule (with a possibility of additional classes closer to the show dates)
The winter production "Jaks Frost" will feature Little Rascals and JAKS Follies.

Little Rascals is a program I set up for the younger kids. Both beginners and more experienced members will find this fun and challenging,
with instruction in acting, singing and dance.

JAKS Follies is a song and dance workshop for all ages, with some attention on acting. This group's focus will be on ensemble dancing and vocal harmonization.

JAKS Players is the musical theater group and the focus here is on all performance aspects of a great Broadway musical production. This is an intense program that is designed to build a team of performers who can perform like pros. This takes hard work and dedication. The rehearsals are on Saturdays with additional dance, harmony, and scenework rehearsals throughout the week. The hours required depend on each cast member's assigned roles (ensemble, supporting roles, leads, harmony singer, dancer) A lead will always be a harmony singer and will often be a dancer as well, so the time requirement is quite a bit more than an ensemble cast member, as an example. All cast members will sing and dance as well. All parts will be double cast and all cast members are required to participate in all of the shows, even if they are not playing their part.
This group will be performing HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS at the Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center in Salt Lake City in February 2012.

If you are interested in performing arts this is the company for you.
Jill
